Norfolk, England
I am looking for a possible link between CHILVERS families in Brancaster & Burnham Westgate (Market) circa 1795. It is possible that the answer may lie in Brancaster Staithe. There were two large family groups living close together and I find it difficult to believe that they were not connected.
Here's an enquiry from Iris of South Yorkshire, England
Could anyone please help by giving me further information about the villages of THORPE ABBOTT'S and DICKLEBURGH.
My CHILVER family appear to have lived in Thorpe Abbott's from 1720 to 1900s but I cannot find any CHILVER records prior to 1720. I have all the entries in the Parish registers for my family but wondered if any CHILVER names occurred in Dickleburgh either in parish registers or MI s. Any help would be most gratefully received as I have not moved at all for almost a year.
My gggg grandfather was THOMAS CHILVER, born 1720, who was first married to Ann who died in 1764, and then to Susannah Morphew who was born in 1722.
Does anyone have any information please about his parents or any other family members?

Another Norfolk query.
I am searching for John Chilvers, who tells me he was born ca. 1776 in Norfolk (1841 census) and was a brickmaker. John married Mary Howard 1 May 1798 in Castle Acre; Mary died 4 Dec 1848 in Castle Acre.
John was not on the 1851 census for Castle Acre, and I suspect by then he may have died. There is no burial record for him in the Castle Acre records. I have also searched the Swaffham records as I believe he may have lived with his daughter, Rebecca Buckle and her husband Robert.
I would appreciate any information concerning John's birth or death.
I am trying to find some biographical details about a musician called Thomas H Chilvers. All I know about him is that he composed a song about boxing which was published by the Whitney Warner Music Publishing Company of Detroit, Michigan, USA in 1901. I am assuming that he was American but there is a possibility that he was Canadian.
Best wishes
I am most interested to find out how my great, great grandfather came to Australia,
My great, great grandfather was Philip
Henry Chilver, son of James Chilver and Lucy Church.
James was baptised in 1798 at Ardleigh in Essex, and Lucy was baptised
in 1802 at Little Bromley. Philip was born on 6th November either in 1932,
or in 1836 (marriage and death certificates disagree -- marriage says 1836)
at Great Bromley, and we believe he came to Australia in 1854 or 1855.
He was married at Ballan, Victoria in 1867, and died at Traralgon in 1898.
Family lore says that he jumped ship in Adelaide, but there are records
for that time and none of any Chilver.
