It was in this church that my great grandfather George William CHILVERS married Louisa BELSON, the daughter of a shoemaker. This broke the mould in a number of ways for George William left the land, studied hard, and became a Building Surveyor. He eventually occupied a seriously high position in the Masons. My branch of the family have been Nonconformists ever since.

The date of the building of the first church is unknown to me at the present time.
