Whilst looking for my ancestor John who had served in the Army I checked out the Discharge Certificates at the Public Records Office, Kew. Brief details are listed but I will give full details to any one interested.

Robert CHILVERS Sergeant 36761 R.F.A. 66 Battery applied for discharge after 18 years service, 30 April 1903 at Gosport. Born 21 January 1863 Mettingham, Bungay, Suffolk.

Jonathan Samuel CHILVERS, Staff Sergeant, R.A.M.C. date of discharge 18 March 1908 at York. Married Elise BLATIERE 4 August 1898 in Paris, France. Died 15 November 1942, Kent.

Robert CHILVERS, Norfolk Regiment Joined 14 June 1892 age 18 years. Born Beccles, Suffolk. Discharged as Corporal in Pretoria, South Africa.

William CHILVERS, Norfolk Regiment 6764. Joined 31 Jan 1901. Discharged 28 February 1902. Next of Kin, Hanna - Wife.

William CHILVERS, R.A. 22874. Born Grimston, Lynn, Norfolk circa August 1878. Died of "Enteric Fever" Kirkee, India. Next of Kin, Father William.

Walter CHILVERS Baptised 10 March 1872. R.A. joined 26 January 1889. Served Home and South Africa. Discharged 22 January 1902 at Woolwich.

Frederick Edward CHILVERS. Norfolk Regiment. 18 years Fisherman. Joined 6 June 1904. Discharged as incorrigible and worthless, 21 September 1904. (NOT one of mine). Next of Kin, Father Henry of Beccles.

Horace CHILVERS 6921 Norfolk Regiment. Born Kings Lynn, Norfolk. circa April 1884. Joined 30 November 1903. Was tried by D.C.M. at Norwich for "Theft" sentenced to 56 days. Discharged 1 July 1904 for Misconduct. Next of Kin, Father Amos of Grimston.
